CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball freshman
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) posted her first collegiate double-double in the Cougars 67-47 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas College.
The Cougars fall to 0-4, while the Spartans improve to 5-2.
St. Thomas Aquinas scored the first 11 points of the game to take the early lead. Caldwell battled back to close to within three points at 19-16 early in the second quarter.
The Spartans answered as they pulled ahead 32-20 at halftime. Caldwell could not close the gap in the second half as St. Thomas Aquinas maintained their lead to the final buzzer.
Graduate
Alessia Smaldone (Malnate, Italy) led the way with 13 points, two boards and two assists, while senior
Kristen Siscamanis (Winthrop, Mass.) totaled 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Dits recorded her first double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman
Tamrin Henderson (Woodbridge, Va.) finished with five points and seven boards.
The Cougars host Molloy College on Saturday, December 1 at 1:00 pm at the Newman Center.
