LAKEWOOD, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell to Holy Family University 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship semifinals on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars end their season at 15-17, while the Tigers improve to 28-5 and advance to Sunday's championship match.
Holy Family won the first two sets 25-8 and 25-12. Caldwell battled in the third set but ultimately fell 25-18.
Freshman
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill.) totaled six kills, while sophomore
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) chipped in three kills. Sophomore
Chloe Kissner (Seabrook, Texas) posted three kills and two blocks.
Freshman
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) finished with eight assists and three digs, while freshman
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) recorded 10 digs.
Seniors
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Alyssa Ayala (Wantagh, N.Y.) saw their careers in a Caldwell uniform come to a close with the loss. Hoffman, who totaled five assists in her final match, ends her four-year career with 1,813 assists, 152 kills and 543 digs. Ayala finishes her career with 294 assists and 224 digs.
