MANCHESTER, N.H.- The Caldwell University women's soccer team wrapped up their season opening road trip with a 5-1 loss to Saint Anselm College. The Cougars fall to 0-2-0 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 1-0-0.
The game remained scoreless for the first 30 minutes before the Hawks took the lead. Saint Anselm netted three goals in two and half minutes starting at the 32:00 mark. The Hawks held a 3-0 lead at halftime.
The Hawks added to their lead in the second half as they scored in the 70th and 75th minute to take a 5-0 lead.
Caldwell got on the scoreboard in the 86th minute of play as junior
Haley Kopf (Jackson, N.J.) blasted a penalty kick past the Saint Anselm keeper.
Sophomore
Daniela Lucca (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) recorded five saves in 90 minutes in net for the Cougars.
Caldwell returns to action on Saturday, September 9 as they open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Chestnut Hill College at 1 pm.
