DOBBS FERRY, N.Y.- The Caldwell University women's lacrosse team fell to #17 Mercy College 18-2 in a non-conference clash.
The Cougars fall to 2-4, while the Mavericks improve to 8-0.
Mercy took the early lead with eight goals to start the game. Senior
Amanda Timmes (Pine Beach, N.J.) scored midway through the opening half off an assist by junior
Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, N.Y.).
Schenck netted her second assist of the game as freshman
Arden Kassaleh (Pompton Plains, N.J.) scored for the Cougars right before halftime.
Sophomore
Elizabeth Ruedemann (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) played the first half in net and registered five saves for Caldwell. Sophomore
Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, Fla.) came on in relief, playing all 30 minutes in the second half and recorded six saves.
The Cougars host Wilmington University on Wednesday, March 29 at 4 pm in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at Essex Valley School.
