TOWSON, Md.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team posted a 3-2 record on Day 1 of the James Brown Invitational hosted by Morgan St University.

The Cougars came up short in their first baker match of the tournament with an 827-787 loss to Norfolk St. University. Caldwell battled back with wins in their next two matches. They defeated NJ City University 908-866 and downed Wilmington University 867-646.

Caldwell fell in their fourth match of the day with a 948-847 loss to Mount Aloysius College. The Cougars finished the day strong as they picked up an 899-696 win over Coppin St. University. Caldwell moves their season record over the .500 mark at 34-33.

Sophomore
Jamie Lee Kulaga (West Hazelton, Pa.) led the way on day 1 for the Cougars as she posted an 18.42 baker average. Sophomore
Alexis Policastro (Carteret, N.J.) posted a 17.04 baker average, while sophomore
Lilliana Sigona (Haskell, N.J.) and junior
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, N.Y.) finished tied with a 16.55 average. Sophomore
Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, N.J) rounded out the top performers with a 16.22 average.
