NEWARK, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball senior
Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.) dropped in 23 points as the Cougars defeated Division I NJIT 81-64 in an exhibition contest.
Drogsler chipped in five rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win. Sophomore
Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) shot 6-for-7 from downtown as she finished with 20 points.
Senior
Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.) contributed 11 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. Senior
Maura Kelty (Barrington, R.I.) totaled eight points and five boards.
The Cougars tip-off their 2017-18 season on the road at the Georgian Court University Tournament. Caldwell takes on Saint Anselm College on Saturday, November 11 at 12 pm. The Cougars wrap up their opening weekend against Merrimack College at 1 pm. The Cougars were picked to repeat as Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division champs in the conference's preseason coaches poll.
