ROSEMONT, Pa.- The Caldwell University Women's Lacrosse team fell to #4 Holy Family University 17-3 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship First Round. The Cougars, making their first-ever postseason appearance, end their season at 5-10 overall, which is a programs record in victories. The Tigers advance to Saturday's semifinal game as they improve to 7-11 on the season.
Holy Family got on the board with two goals but sophomore
Pamela Schenck (East Moriches, NY) tallied a goal to cut the score to 2-1. The Tigers added three goals to take a 5-1 lead.
Freshman
Rachel Lucia (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) netted a goal to slice the score to 5-2 but the teams traded goals. Sophomore
Mariah Wynn (Clearwater, FL) chipped in a goal as Holy Family led 6-3. Holy Family closed the half with four goals to lead 10-3 at halftime.
Caldwell managed only five total shots in the second half as they failed to find the back of the net over the final 30 minutes of play as they fell in their playoff debut.
In net, freshman
Elizabeth Ruedemann (Monmouth Junction, NJ) recorded 10 saves in 52:30 minutes, while freshman
Nancy Benedetto (Jupiter, FL) played 7:30 in net for the Cougars.
