CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University Women's Lacrosse team fell in their season opener 13-4 to the University of Bridgeport. The Cougars open the season at 0-1, while the Purple Knights improve to 1-1.
Bridgeport scored in the first minute of the game but the Cougars answered seven minutes later as sophomore
Emily Fey (Center Moriches, NY) netted the equalizer. The Purple Knights tacked on a pair of goals to go back in front 3-1.
Caldwell rallied back as sophomore

Jessica Minuto (Levittown, NY) netted goals less than a minute apart to tie the score at 3-3. Bridgeport added a late goal as they took a 4-3 lead into halftime.
Bridgeport netted six goals to start the second half as the extended out to a 10-3 lead with 21 minutes to play in the game. Freshman
Rachel Lucia (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) broke the run with a goal at the 20:20 mark but the Purple Knights added three more goals down the stretch.

Elizabeth Ruedemann (Monmouth Junction, NJ) recorded 14 saves in her collegiate debut.
The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, March 12 as they host the Pace University Setters in a noon match at the Essex Valley School Athletic Complex in West Caldwell.
