Jakub Havlak (Prague, Czech Republic) gave the Caldwell men's soccer team an early lead but the Cougars dropped a tough 2-1 double overtime game to the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play
The Cougars fall to 0-6-0 overall and 0-2-0 in CACC play, while the Lightning improve to 2-4-0 and 2-2-0 in conference play.
Havlak got the scoring going in the 44th minute as
Evan Marques (Linden, NJ) passed it to Havlak who chipped in over the keeper's head into the net for an early 1-0 lead for the Cougars.
The Lightning answered with less than a minute before the half as they got the equalizer off a corner kick to tie the score a 1-1 at halftime.
The teams battled to a scoreless second half and first overtime session. Both teams came up short on scoring opportunities but the Lightning found the game-winner in the 107th minute to take the victory.
