LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Caldwell University softball team defeated Felician College, 2-1 and 10-6 to sweep a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader Monday afternoon at Matera Field. The results give the Cougars an 11-game winning streak, improving their record to 17-9 overall and 11-1 in the conference. The Golden Falcons drop to 9-16, 6-8 CACC.
Caldwell scored the first runs of Game 1 in the fourth inning. Sophomore
Amy Hickman (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) singled to score junior
Katelyn Biasi (Blackwood, NJ/Sterling), and a sacrifice fly from sophomore
Lauren Frye (Jupiter, FL/Jupiter) plated Hickman for a 2-0 lead. Felician scored a run on an RBI single by Jackie Duenas in the sixth that made the score 2-1. But junior pitcher
Amber Padilla (Chino, CA/Pomona Catholic) retired the final four batters to close out the win.
Padilla went the distance, allowing one run on four hits while striking out four and walking two to improve to 10-3. Hickman went 2-for-2 at the plate for the Cougars.
Senior
Alyssa Calderon (Fontana, CA/Etiwanda) got things started in Game 2 with an RBI double that scored senior
Kristen Knorr (Monroeville, NJ/Delsea) in the top of the first. After Felician scored twice in the bottom of the first to lead 2-1, Caldwell pushed six runs across for a commanding 7-2 advantage. Five of the runs were scored on two dropped fly balls, while freshman
Kiahna Silva (Etiwanda, CA/Etiwanda) singled home freshman
Kortney Craker (San Marcos, CA/Mission Hills). The Golden Falcons came back with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 7-5. But the Cougars scored single runs in each of the final three innings to put the game out of reach.

Brielle Reighn (Runnemeade, NJ/Triton Reg.) and
Caitlin McCready (Jupiter, FL/Dwyer) each had two hits. Sophomore
