ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. – The Caldwell University bowling team completed its inaugural season at the ECAC Northeast Region Championships this weekend at Parkview Lanes. The Cougars won a match on Saturday and ended up in sixth place overall for the tournament.
On Saturday Caldwell defeated New Jersey City University, 660-605 while falling to Maryland-Eastern Shore, St. Francis-Brooklyn, St. Peter's and Fairleigh Dickinson University. In Sunday's position round, the Cougars outscored NJCU, 802-595 but then lost to St. Francis and NJCU to take sixth.
The inaugural bowling team consists of seven freshmen:
Deborah Andrews (Lindenwold, NJ/Lindenwold),
Kellie Ehrmann (Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.),
Vanessa Mantione (Matawan, NJ/Bishop Ahr),
Brigitte Murgado (Union Cirty, NJ/Union City),
Natalie Pedri (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea),
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, NY/New Hyde Park Mem.) and
Amanda Shea (Paramus, NJ/Paramus Catholic).
The Cougars, coached by
Ken Yokobosky, finished the season with a record of 5-51.
