WALLINGFORD, Conn.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team posted their first-ever victory in Northeast Conference play as they compete in the NEC Meet #1 to close out the fall semester season.
The Cougars played 10 matches over the course of two days, five traditional and five Baker format.
In Baker format, Caldwell lost those five matches, twice to St. Francis, once to Sacred Heart, Farileigh Dickinson and Long Island.
The Cougars has success in traditional match play as they went 1-4 and defeated national #4 Fairleigh Dickinson 898-863. Caldwell lost their four matches to St. Francis twice, and once to Long Island and Sacred Heart.
Freshman
Emily McLaughlin (Seaford, NJ) ranked in the top-20 for the weekend as they placed 17th with an average of 182.40. Freshman
Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, NJ) and sophomore
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, NY) placed in the top 30 as Scharf ranked 27th with an average of 171.20, while Roca ranked 29th with an average of 169.00.
Freshman
Alexis Policastro (Carteret, NJ) and freshman
Jamie Lee Kulaga (West Hazelton, PA) rounded out the top finishers for the Cougars as Policastro ranked 32nd with an average of 163.00 and Kulaga ranked 38th with an average of 147.60
The Cougars are off until the spring semester when they will compete in the Capitol Classic hosted by Delaware St. University on February 6-7, 2016.
