Box Score CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University volleyball team was led sophomore
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, HI) who netted 15 kills but the Cougars fell to Felician University 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars fall to 20-11 overall and 12-6 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons improve to 7-23 and 5-13 in conference play.
With the loss, Caldwell secures the #3 seed in the CACC Tournament and will travel to the #2 seed of the South Division next Tuesday, November 17 in the quarterfinal round. Â
Felician took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19, while the Cougars took the third set 25-22. The Golden Falcons took the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth set.
Auyong added 10 digs, while sophomore
Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia) chipped in 10 kills and four blocks.
Senior
Kelsey Blankerts (Sylvania, OH) contributed six digs and seven blocks, while fellow senior
Rachael DiLeonardo (Milton, GA) recorded eight kills, seven digs and two blocks. Â
Sophomore
Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, IL) posted a team-high 16 digs, while freshman
Jordan Hoffman (Colorado Springs, CO) tallied 32 assists and 12 digs.
Caldwell wraps up the regular season on Saturday, November 14 as they host Nyack College in a CACC match at 1 pm. Â
