Holy Family Defeats Caldwell in Women’s Lacrosse

Box Score
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Caldwell College women's lacrosse team fell to Holy Family University, 20-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Sunday afternoon at Tiger Field. The loss drops the Cougars to 0-6 overall and in conference play, while the Tigers improve to 3-7, 3-3 CACC.

After Holy Family scored the first goal of the game less than three minutes after the opening whistle, freshman midfielder Christina Gonzalez (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) found the net off an assist from freshman attack Amy Hudak (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) to tie the score at 1-1. The Tigers took control from there, scoring seven straight goals before freshman midfielder Kirsten Whitt (Lawrenceville, GA/Mountain View) tallied her team-leading 11th goal of the season with 7:33 left in the half. Holy Family did not allow a goal the rest of the way, ending a three-game losing streak.

Whitt also had a team-best five draw controls, while freshman defender Miranda Harrington (Neptune, NJ/St. Rose) notched three ground balls. Freshman goalie Adria Ostafi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) recorded 10 saves in goal for Caldwell.

The Cougars play a CACC game at Georgian Court University on Tuesday, Apr. 8, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Lakewood, N.J.
