Box Score VERONA, N.J. – The Caldwell College women's lacrosse team fell to Dominican College, 24-5 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday night at Centennial Field. The Cougars, who are competing in their inaugural season, are now 0-9, while the Lady Chargers improve to 7-4, 6-2 CACC.
In the first half, freshman
midfielder Christina Gonzalez (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) scored twice and freshman attack
Amy Hudak (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) scored once for Caldwell, as Dominican built a 15-3 lead at the half. Freshmen midfielders
Victoria Grzelak (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) and
Courtney Donlon (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) found the net.
Donlon also added four draw controls, three ground balls and an assist, while freshman midfielder
Kirsten Whitt (Lawrenceville, GA/Mountain View) tallied three draw controls and an assist. Freshman goalie
Adria Ostafi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) recorded three saves and freshman goalie
Melissa Garris (Matawan, NJ/Old Bridge) had six saves in goal for Caldwell. Christina Brennan led Dominican with six goals.
Caldwell hosts Nyack College on Monday, Apr. 14 in the final home game of the season. The game starts at 12:00 p.m. at Centennial Field.
