Box Score VERONA, N.J. – The Caldwell College women's lacrosse team fell to Philadelphia University, 20-7 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Thursday afternoon at Centennial Field. The Cougars are now 0-8 overall and in the conference, while the Rams improve to 10-1, 8-0 CACC.
Philadelphia tallied the first nine goals of the game to build an insurmountable lead. Freshmen
Kirsten Whitt (Lawrenceville, GA/Mountain View) and
Victoria Grzelak (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) scored back-to-back goals for Caldwell, but the Rams took a 15-2 advantage at the half. The Cougars picked things up offensively, scoring five goals in the second half. Whitt scored three times, and freshman
Courtney Donlon (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) found the net twice after halftime.
Donlon also notched two assists, three ground balls and two draw controls. Whitt had four draw controls, while Gonzalez tallied three ground balls and two draw controls. Freshman goalie
Adria Ostafi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) made seven saves in goal for Caldwell. Twelve different players scored for Philadelphia, led by Isabella DiGnazio with three.
The Cougars host Dominican College in a CACC game Saturday, Apr. 12. The game starts at 8:00 p.m. at Centennial Field in Verona, N.J.
