VERONA, N.J. – The Caldwell College women's lacrosse team played its first home game in its inaugural season today, losing to Georgian Court University, 17-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at Centennial Field in Verona, N.J. The Cougars are now 0-2 overall and in the conference, while the Lions improve to 6-2, 4-0 CACC.

Kirsten Whitt (Lawrenceville, GA/Mountain View) scoring off an assist from freshman Christina Gonzalez (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) less than a minute into the half. Freshman
Victoria Grzelak (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) tallied her first collegiate goal with 25:29 to play, and freshman
Courtney Donlon (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) found the net with 17:14 remaining for the Cougars' final goal. Brown and Melissa Williams each finished with five goals in the game for Georgian Court.
Caldwell College has arranged with the Township of Verona to play its home lacrosse games at Centennial Field, which is less than a mile from campus. Centennial Field is located at 880 Bloomfield Avenue in Verona.

Melissa Garris (Matawan, NJ/Old Bridge) recorded four saves and freshman
Adria Ostafi (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) made three saves for the Cougars. Lions' goalie Stephanie Lehner tallied six saves, as Georgian Court held a 28-11 advantage in shots.
