BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Caldwell University volleyball team defeated Concordia College, 25-14, 25-21, 25-23 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Friday night in the Meyers Athletic Center. The Cougars improve to 18-9 overall and 12-4 in league play with the win, while the Clippers drop to 4-14, 3-13 CACC.
Caldwell hit a season-high .306 with 41 kills and just eight errors in 108 attempts in the victory. Freshman outside hitter
Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, HI/Kamehameha) led the Cougars with nine kills. Junior middle blocker
Kelsey Blankerts (Sylvania, OH/Southview), sophomore outside hitter
Rachael DiLeonardo (West Chester, OH/Mount Notre Dame) and freshman middle blocker
Narae Wadsworth (Reno, NV/Wooster) each delivered seven kills, with DiLeonardo adding 10 digs. Senior setter
Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, CA/St. Monica) contributed five kills, 21 assists and six digs, while freshman setter
Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, TX/Johnson) had 16 assists and six digs. Senior libero
Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) notched a team-best 16 digs in the win. Concordia was led by Sydney Darden with 18 kills and 11 digs.
The Cougars host Philadelphia University in another CACC match on Saturday, Nov. 1, beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
