Box Score
CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College volleyball team swept Dominican College in three sets, 25-16, 25-22, 25-18 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Wednesday night in the George R. Newman Center. The Cougars, who are now 6-7 overall, remain unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. The Lady Chargers drop to 1-11, 1-2 CACC.

Freshman outside hitter Taylor Zaeske (S. Milwaukee, WI/S. Milwaukee) put down seven of Caldwell's 15 kills in the first set to help the Cougars get out to a 1-0 lead in the match. The Cougars led for most of the second set, but never by more than three points as Dominican stayed close. With the score tied at 22-22, a kill by senior middle blocker Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity), a Dominican attack error and a service ace from junior libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) gave Caldwell the set and a 2-0 advantage. Junior outside hitter Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, CA/St. Monica) and freshman middle blocker Taylor Kovach (Oregon, OH/Clay) each had four kills in the set.

The Cougars held the lead throughout the third set and put the match away with back-to-back kills from Nestoras and a final kill by Zaeske to complete the sweep. Caldwell has yet to lose a set in conference play through three matches.

Zaeske finished with a team-best 15 kills to go with 11 digs, while Nestoras had 11 kills, a team-high 16 digs and a .455 hitting percentage. Kovach also added 10 kills and hit .529.
