NEWARK, Del. – The Caldwell College women's basketball team earned its 11th consecutive victory with an 88-66 decision over Wilmington University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. The Cougars (15-11) also moved into first place in the CACC North Division with a 13-4 mark in league play.
Caldwell took control of the game early with a 14-2 run, including eight points from junior forward
Jeanette Anderson (Lynn, MA/Lynn English) and two three-pointers by freshman guard
Nicole Angelo (Mount Laurel, NJ/Camden Catholic) to lead 22-10. The Cougars maintained the 12-point advantage until Wilmington closed out the half with an 8-2 run that made the halftime score 40-34 Caldwell. Anderson scored 16 points in the half for the Cougars, who also made 5-of-8 from three-point range.

Emily Caswell (Wakefield, RI/Prout School) and senior guard
Torey Jones (Providence, RI/LaSalle Acad.) helped Caldwell start the second half with a 14-4 spree to increase the lead to 54-40 with 16:37 on the clock. The Cougars pushed the lead to 20, 64-44 by the 14-minute mark and never let the Wildcats back in the game. Jones hit three three-pointers and Angelo had two, as Caldwell made seven threes in the second half compared to zero for Wilmington.
Anderson paced the Cougars with 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals. She also was 11-of-12 from the free throw line, helping Caldwell make 18-of-21 from the charity stripe for the game. Angelo had 15 points on five three-pointers, Jones finished with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Caswell grabbed a team-best nine boards to go with 12 points and three steals. Tenicia Spence registered 35 points and five steals to lead Wilmington (3-21, 1-16 CACC).
Caldwell continues CACC play with a rematch with Bloomfield College on Tuesday, Feb. 19. The Lady Deacons beat the Cougars, 64-55 in overtime earlier this season. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in Bloomfield, N.J.
