Box Score
CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 victory over the University of the Sciences in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon in the George R. Newman Center. The win clinches the CACC North Division title for the Cougars (18-11), who finish with a 15-4 conference record. The Devils complete their season at 14-19, 9-10 CACC.

Caldwell won the first set, 25-20 after trailing early, getting three kills apiece from junior outside hitter Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, CA/St. Monica) and freshman outside hitter Taylor Zaeske (S. Milwaukee, WI/S. Milwaukee). The second set was close down the stretch, with Caldwell never leading by more than three points. Kills by Zaeske and freshman middle blocker Taylor Kovach (Oregon, OH/Clay) closed out the 25-22 win, with Zaeske and senior middle blocker Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity) recording five kills each in the set. The third set was all Caldwell, with the Cougars holding USciences to just four kills with nine errors in 24 attempts en route to a 25-12 win.

Zaeske led all players with 12 kills, while freshman setter Rachel Carpenter (Newark, OH/Newark) had 31 assists. Bausch, who was playing in her final home regular-season match along with fellow senior Lisa Roth (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field), had nine kills without an error, three blocks and a .529 hitting percentage. The division title is the Cougars' fifth in the last six years, and clinches the top seed in the North Division for the upcoming CACC Tournament.

The Cougars will host Holy Family University, the fourth seed in the South, in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Newman Center.
