WORCESTER, Mass. – The Caldwell College women's basketball team lost to seventh-ranked Stonehill College, 93-53 at the Assumption College Tip-Off Classic Sunday afternoon at Laska Gymnasium. The result drops the Cougars to 0-3 on the year, while the Skyhawks improve to 3-1.
Stonehill led the entire way, building a 24-point advantage before taking a 47-25 lead at halftime. The Skyhawks shot 57.6 percent from the field and hit five threes in the first half, with Mary Louise Dixon scoring 13 points. Junior forward
Emily Caswell (Wakefield, RI/Prout School) matched Dixon with 13 points for Caldwell in the half.

Jeanette Anderson (Lynn, MA/Lynn English) helped the Cougars cut the deficit to 49-31. Stonehill stayed in control of the game, holding a 22-point lead with 8:22 to play before closing out the game on a 25-7 run.
Caswell led Caldwell with 15 points, four assists and four steals and was named to the all-tournament team. Anderson finished with 13 points, while James had her best game of the young season, scoring 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and grabbing six rebounds. Dixon ended up with 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Stonehill.
Caldwell begins play in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on Wednesday, Nov. 20 with a home game against Felician College. The tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
