LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Caldwell College women's soccer team earned an important Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory on the road, beating Chestnut Hill College, 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Victory Hill. The win gives the Cougars a 5-3-2 record on the season, including a 4-0-2 mark in league play. The Griffins fall to 2-6-1, 2-2-1 CACC.
Senior midfielder
Julie Crankshaw (Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacey Twp.) put Caldwell on the scoreboard in the 27th minute with her team-leading third tally of the season. Junior forward
Natalie Migoya (Lincoln Park, NJ/Morris Catholic) received the assist. Then in the 42nd minute, senior midfielder
Carissa Strye (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) finished a centering pass from junior forward
Melissa Stec (Salt Point, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) to put the Cougars up 2-0. The Caldwell defense did the rest, keeping the Griffins scoreless to remain unbeaten in the conference through six games.
Junior goalkeeper
Robin Franchi (Sewell, NJ/Deptford) recorded her third shutout of the season by making seven saves. Samantha Pauls also made seven saves for Chestnut Hill, as the Griffins were out-shot, 24-15.
Caldwell plays a CACC contest at Post University on Wednesday, Oct. 9. The game starts at 3:00 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
