Box Score

CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College volleyball team defeated Concordia College, 25-13, 25-21, 25-15 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Friday night in the George R. Newman Center. With the win, the Cougars improve to 10-9 overall and 3-2 in league play, while the Clippers drop to 2-9, 2-3 CACC.

Caldwell led early in the first set and reeled off six straight points to close out the set. The second set saw Concordia take a 14-8 lead before the Cougars battled back to tie the score at 17-17. After taking a 23-21 lead, a kill by senior right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive), and an ace from senior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) gave Caldwell a 25-21 win. Mosher and McDonough had four kills apiece in the second set. In the third set, junior middle blocker Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity) notched three kills as the Cougars cruised, 25-15.

Mosher and McDonough each finished with eight kills, while sophomore Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, CA/St. Monica) delivered 15 assists. Defensively, sophomore libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) tallied 13 digs, while Mosher had five blocks and Bausch recorded four blocks. Chelsea Zurcher led the Clippers with six kills.

Before the match, McDonough was recognized for recording her 1,000th career kill, becoming the first Cougar volleyball player to achieve the milestone. The kill came in a victory over Franklin Pierce on Sept. 21 at the Pace Tournament.

Caldwell hosts Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, Sept. 29 in a CACC match. The first serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the Newman Center.
