PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Caldwell College volleyball team narrowly lost a five-set match to Texas A&M International, 25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 20-25, 19-17 at the Pace University Tournament Friday afternoon at the Goldstein Recreation Center. The Cougars (7-7) take on Franklin Pierce University later tonight.
In the final set, Caldwell took a 7-3 lead and had three match points. But the Dust Devils fought back and outlasted the Cougars, 19-17. Freshman outside hitter Rachael DiLeonardo (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) led Caldwell with 17 kills. Senior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) added 14 kills, giving her 999 kills for her career. Senior right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) and sophomore Erica Harrell (Richardson, TX/Plano East) each had 10 kills. Junior setter Lisa Roth (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) recorded a career-best 50 assists, while sophomore libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) notched 30 digs.
Caldwell plays Franklin Pierce at the Pace Tournament at 5:00 p.m.
