BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Caldwell College volleyball team swept Molloy College, 25-21, 25-15, 25-20, then beat Pace University in five sets at the LIU Post Tournament Saturday afternoon in the Pratt Recreation Center. The Cougars, who went to five sets in three of their four matches at the tournament, are now 6-6 on the season.

Against Pace, Caldwell trailed two sets to one and battled to a 25-22 win in the fourth set to extend the match. In the final set, junior middle blocker Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity) had three kills en route to a 15-11 win and the second victory over Pace this season. Senior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) led the Cougars with 17 kills and 19 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. Freshman outside hitter Rachael DiLeonardo (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) had 12 kills, senior right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) tallied 11 kills and four blocks, and Bausch finished with 10 kills and three blocks. Sophomore libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) paced the defense with a career-best 33 digs.

In the sweep of Molloy, DiLeonardo led all players with 15 kills, while McDonough added 11 kills and 11 digs. Junior setter Lisa Roth (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) dished out 16 assists to go with 11 digs, and sophomore setter Athena Nestoras (Los Angeles, CA/St. Monica) had 15 assists and 13 digs for Caldwell. Del Cid racked up 24 digs on defense.

Caldwell plays a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Bloomfield College on Wednesday, Sept. 19, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
