Box Score

CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell College volleyball team swept Felician College, 25-7, 25-9, 26-24 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Tuesday night in the George R. Newman Center. The win is the fifth in a row for the Cougars, who are now 14-9 overall and 7-2 in the conference. The Golden Falcons fall to 1-15, 1-9 CACC.

Caldwell never trailed in the first two sets, getting four kills from junior right side Kate Blankerts (Sylvania, OH/Southview) in the first set and four kills apiece from senior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) and freshman middle blocker Kelsey Blankerts (Sylvania, OH/Southview) in the second set. In the third set the Cougars seemed to be in control, leading 16-10. But Felician battled back, tying the score at 23-23 and setting up set point with a kill by Olivia Emerson. But McDonough delivered back-to-back kills, and junior setter Lisa Roth (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) clinched the match with a service ace.

McDonough led Caldwell with 10 kills to go with 10 digs, while Kate and Kelsey Blankerts finished with six kills each. Roth helped the Cougars hit a season-best .300 with 25 assists to go with nine digs and three aces. Defensively, junior middle blocker Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity) had four total blocks, and sophomore Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) recorded 12 digs. Emerson paced the Golden Falcons with 11 kills.
