CALDWELL, N.J. – Junior midfielder Julie Crankshaw (Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacey Twp.) and sophomore forward Natalie Migoya (Lincoln Park, NJ/Morris Catholic) each had a goal and an assist as the Caldwell College women's soccer team earned a 3-1 victory over Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Tuesday afternoon at Caldwell Field. With the win, the Cougars are now 9-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play, while the Eagles drop to 4-8, 3-6 CACC.
Caldwell got on the scoreboard in the 38th minute, with Crankshaw setting up a blast from freshman forward Lisa Rovatsos (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) for her first collegiate goal. The Cougars held on to the one-goal lead until Sara Cramer finished a crossing pass from Renel Dennis in the 69th minute. Six minutes later, Migoya took a pass from sophomore defender Lauren Iuliucci (Franklinville, NJ/Delsea) and beat Post goalkeeper Grace McConnell for a 2-1 lead. Migoya then assisted on Crankshaw's team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 81st minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Robin Franchi (Sewell, NJ/Deptford) recorded three saves, and McConnell finished with 18 saves, as the Cougars racked up a 27-6 advantage in shots.
Caldwell continues CACC play with a game at Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday, Oct. 13, beginning at 12:00 p.m. in Wilmington, Del.
