Caldwell Volleyball Wins CACC Match at Goldey-Beacom

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Caldwell College volleyball team swept Goldey-Beacom College, 25-18, 25-20, 25-16 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon at the Jones Center. The win is the Cougars' seventh in a row and improves their record to 16-9 overall, including a 9-2 mark in the conference. The Lightning drops its 12th straight match to fall to 4-15, 0-11 CACC.

Senior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) had five of Caldwell's 13 kills in a 25-18 win in the first set. The Cougars led for most of the second set until the Lightning battled back to tie the score at 20-20. But two kills apiece from McDonough and senior right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive), plus a block from Mosher and junior middle blocker Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity), gave Caldwell a 25-20 victory. McDonough had four kills as the Cougars pulled away in the third set, 25-16.

McDonough led the way, hitting .481 with 15 kills to go with 10 digs for her sixth straight double-double. Freshman outside hitter Rachael DiLeonardo (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) recorded eight kills and Bausch finished with seven kills and six total blocks. Junior setter Lisa Roth (Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) notched 37 assists and nine digs, while sophomore libero Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) had 11 digs. Kadi McCoy paced Goldey-Beacom with 12 kills.

Caldwell is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 17 with a CACC match at home against Post University. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
