COUGAR VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS CONCORDIA, 3-1

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College volleyball team dropped the first set, then won three straight to defeat Concordia College, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-17 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Tuesday night in the Meyer Athletic Center. The result keeps the Cougars (11-1) undefeated in conference play at 8-0, while the Clippers fall to 0-12, 0-6 CACC.

Following a narrow 25-23 loss in the opening set, Caldwell came back strong with 18 kills and a .375 hitting percentage to win the second set, 25-18. Junior right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mt. Olive) led the way in the third set with six kills as the Cougars took a 2-1 lead in the match. In the fourth set, Caldwell trailed 12-10 before tallying the next six points for a 16-12 lead en route to a 25-17 victory. Including last season, the Cougars have won 15 consecutive CACC regular-season matches.

Mosher (pictured) and junior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) registered 14 kills apiece to lead Caldwell. Mosher also had three total blocks and a hitting percentage of .407, while McDonough added 12 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Sophomore middle blocker Becca Feczer (Findlay, OH/Findlay) contributed 11 kills, four blocks and a .450 hitting percentage. Senior setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay) helped the Cougars hit .285 as a team, dishing out 47 assists. Chelsea Zurcher and Amanda Margedant led the Clippers with 10 kills each.

Caldwell hosts the College of St. Rose in a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
