RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Junior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) recorded a season-best 20 kills as the Caldwell College volleyball team defeated Felician College 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Thursday night at Job Gym. With the win, the Cougars improve to 9-0 overall, including a 6-0 mark in the conference. The Golden Falcons drop to 0-12, 0-5 CACC.
Caldwell, which won by scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-13, maintained control of the match from start to finish, registering 42 kills compared to 19 for Felician. As a team the Cougars hit .295 for the match, including .405 (17 kills, two errors in 37 attempts) in the second set. McDonough ended up with a hitting percentage of .514 while also tallying 10 kills for her third double-double in her last four games. Senior setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay) dished out 32 assists and had 10 digs defensively. Freshman defensive specialist Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, NJ/Bogota) also contributed 10 digs. Anni Polscher led Felician with seven kills, while Ashlee DiSalvo had 26 digs.
The Cougars play a non-conference match at the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, Sept. 24. The match is set to start at 12:00 p.m. in Bridgeport, Conn.
