CALDWELL, N.J. - Junior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) tallied 18 kills and 16 digs to lead the Caldwell College volleyball team to a three-set victory over Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Thursday evening in the George R. Newman Center. The win is the sixth in a row this season for the Cougars (6-0 overall, 3-0 CACC), who won by scores of 25-8, 28-26, 25-18. The Deacons drop to 0-3, 0-2 CACC.

Caldwell dominated the first set, jumping out to a 15-4 lead en route to a 25-8 win. McDonough had five kills and no errors in eight attempts as the Cougars hit .556 with 16 kills and one error in the set. The second set was much closer, as neither team led by more than four points. Bloomfield took a 24-23 lead and had set point, but a service error tied the score at 24-24. The teams traded points until back-to-back attacking errors by the Deacons gave the Cougars a 28-26 win. McDonough had five kills and nine digs in the set.

Then in the third set, McDonough helped get Caldwell off to a strong start with six kills in building a 10-5 lead. She would add two more kills in the set, as Caldwell cruised to a 25-18 win. This is the second double-double of the season for McDonough, whose 18 digs are a season high.
