BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team lost to the University of Bridgeport, 6-0 in a non-conference game at Knights Field Thursday night. The defeat gives the Cougars a 3-2 record on the season, while the Knights improve to 3-1.

Bridgeport scored three times in a seven-minute span midway through the first half to take control of the game. Goals in the 49th, 68th and 81st minutes allowed the Knights to hand the Cougars the lopsided loss. Danny Ruiz had a goal and two assists for Bridgeport, which is ranked 10th in the latest East Region poll.

Caldwell was out-shot 20-3 in the game, with junior goalkeeper Brian Agostini (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) making a career-best six saves in 56 minutes. Freshman Alex Cunha (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) recorded one save in 34 minutes. Danny Hernandez and Nick Tolman shared the shutout, with Hernandez making the lone save for Bridgeport.

Caldwell is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 17, with a home game against Post University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match begins at 1:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
