COUGAR VOLLEYBALL OUTLASTS PHILADELPHIA AT CACC SEMIFINALS

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Caldwell College volleyball team earned a five-set victory over Philadelphia University in the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Friday night at Georgian Court University. The Cougars (25-4) have won 12 matches in a row and advance to Saturday's championship match against Holy Family University.

Caldwell, the defending CACC champions, won by the score of 23-25, 26-24, 25-14, 21-25, 15-7 to defeat the Rams in the semifinals for the second year in a row. The match marked the fourth consecutive year that the two teams have met in the CACC semifinals.

Junior outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) led all players with 22 kills while hitting .250. The CACC Player of the Year, McDonough also added 15 digs. Senior setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/FIndlay) was the catalyst offensively, dishing out 54 assists. Junior right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mt. Olive) and sophomore middle blocker Kasey Bausch (Bellmore, NY/Holy Trinity) had 10 kills apiece, while senior outside hitter Brittany Denter (Detroit, MI/Kingsley) and sophomore middle blocker Becca Feczer (Findlay, OH/Findlay) contributed nine kills each. Defensively, Bausch tallied seven blocks and Feczer had six blocks, while junior Maddy Amon (Louisville, KY/Bishop Moore) notched a team-best 27 digs. Brittany Olson led the Rams with 14 kills and 22 digs in the loss.

Caldwell plays in the CACC finals on Saturday, Nov. 12, against Holy Family, which defeated Wilmington in four sets in the other semifinal match. The championship match begins at 1:00 p.m. at Georgian Court.
