QUEENS BLANKS COUGARS IN WOMEN'S SOCCER, 3-0

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team fell to Queens College, 3-0 in a non-conference game Thursday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The game was stopped in the 70th minute due to darkness. The loss drops the Cougars to 5-6-1 on the season, while the Knights improve to 6-4-1 with the win.

Queens received all the offense it would need in the 30th minute, when Lorena Russi scored off an assist from Brittany Silipo. Less than seven minutes later, Russi returned the favor, setting up Silipo's tally in the 37th minute for a 2-0 lead. Silipo scored her second goal of the game in the 63rd minute to make the score 3-0. The game, which did not start until 4:45 due to transportation problems, was called at the 70-minute mark due to darkness.

Freshman goalkeeper Robin Franchi (Sewell, NJ/Deptford) recorded six saves in goal for Caldwell, while Allison Breakey had two saves for Queens. The Knights out-shot the Cougars 11-4 in the game.

Caldwell plays another non-league game on Monday, Oct. 17, when Molloy College visits Caldwell Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
