NADEAU LIFTS CALDWELL WOMEN'S SOCCER TO 1-0 VICTORY OVER NYACK

NYACK, N.Y. - Freshman midfielder Rebecca Nadeau (Little Egg Harbor, NJ/Pinelands Regional) scored the game's only goal in the 87th minute to give the Caldwell College women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Wednesday afternoon at Nyack. The Cougars improve to 5-4 on the season, including a 4-3 conference mark, with the victory. The Warriors fall to 2-8, 1-5 CACC.

With the clock winding down in regulation, a long pass was sent through the Nyack defense and towards the goal. Two Caldwell players ran onto the pass and converged with Warriors' goalkeeper Shannon McNeeley. The ball went past the three players, and Nadeau, who was following the play, collected the loose ball and scored into the empty net. It was the first career goal for Nadeau, who entered the game a few minutes before scoring the game-winner.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kristina Cabales (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) registered seven saves for her second shutout of the season. McNeeley had eight saves for Nyack, which was out-shot by the Cougars 14-10 for the game.

Caldwell hosts Post University on Tuesday, Oct. 12 in another CACC contest. The game is set to start at 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
