CALDWELL, N.J. - A goal in the fourth minute of overtime allowed Holy Family University to defeat the Caldwell College women's soccer team, 3-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Sunday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The loss ends a three-game winning streak for the Cougars, who are now 4-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Tigers, who won the CACC Tournament last season, improve to 4-4-1, 3-2-1 CACC.

Holy Family struck first early in the first half, when a shot by Dawn Curry bounced off the post and to the feet of Megan Tole, who scored into the empty net in the seventh minute for a 1-0 HFU lead. The Cougars tied the game on a goal by freshman midfielder Francesca Marinucci (Melbourne, Australia/Haileybury), right, who knocked in a rebound off a shot by junior defender Nikki D'Orsaneo (Bowie, MD/Bowie) in the 59th minute for her first collegiate goal. Tole put the Tigers back on top with a goal in the 77th minute off an assist from Kelsey Marvill. With time running down, senior forward Jackie D'Orsaneo (Bowie, MD/Bowie) blasted the ball from the left sideline towards the goal. The ball glanced off the far post and into the goal to tie the game at 2-2 with two minutes remaining in regulation.

Just 3:03 into overtime, Tole got on the end of a cross from Marvill and headed the ball home to complete the hat trick and end the game. The Cougars are 1-7-1 in their last nine overtime games, including 0-2 this season.

Senior goalkeeper Lauren Hoenig (Howell, NJ/Howell) made four saves in goal for Caldwell, while Gina Mansi recorded two saves for Holy Family, which out-shot Caldwell 21-13 for the game.

The Cougars play at Nyack College on Wednesday, Oct. 6 in another CACC match. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in Nyack, N.Y.
