RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's volleyball team rolled to a three-set victory over Felician College, 25-16, 25-10, 25-10 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Monday evening at Job Gymnasium. The win gives the Cougars an overall record of 14-6, including an 11-2 mark in conference play. Felician drops to 3-16, 2-9 CACC.
Four kills from senior outside hitter Justine Pecora (Clifton, NJ/Mt. St. Dominic Acad.) helped Caldwell take a 25-16 win in the first set. In the second set, the Cougars allowed Felician to score consecutive points only once while hitting .379 en route to a 25-10 victory. Junior middle blocker Titilola Alao (Ossining, NY/Ossining) registered five kills and no errors in six attempts, as the Cougars had 14 kills and three errors in the set. The third set saw more of the same, as the Cougars hit .524 (13 kills, two errors in 21 attempts) and Alao put down five kills to complete the sweep with a 25-10 win. Caldwell finished with a season-best .360 hitting percentage while holding the Golden Falcons to a -.062 hitting percentage.
Alao, right, finished with a match-high 12 kills, a .526 hitting percentage and four total blocks to lead the Cougars. Senior outside hitter Cory Roesing (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) tallied eight kills and 10 digs, junior setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay) had 23 assists in two sets, and sophomore libero Maddy Amon (Louisville, KY/Bishop Moore) recorded 11 digs. Amber Doran led the Golden Falcons with seven kills and 14 digs.
Caldwell takes on Nyack College in another CACC battle on Wednesday, Oct. 20, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Nyack, N.Y.
