Caldwell took control of a close game late in the first half with a 9-3 run that Leedham started with a three and ended with a lay-up for a 28-20 lead with three minutes left in the half. Leedham had 12 points and eight boards in the first half, with freshman guard Torey Jones (N. Providence, RI/LaSalle Acad.) adding nine points.

The lead remained six points midway through the second half when the Cougars began a 16-4 run that put the game out of reach, 65-47 with 5:22 remaining. Leedham tallied five points in the run, while Jones drained back-to-back three-pointers to add to Caldwell's biggest lead of the game. The Griffins came no closer than 12 points the rest of the way, as the Cougars wrapped up their fifth win in their past six games.

Leedham (pictured), who has scored at least 16 points in each of her last five games, made three three-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points. She also had three assists and a steal, and her nine rebounds matched a career high. Jones hit 3-of-5 from three-point range and finished with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals. Freshman forward Ebony Thomas (Jersey City, NJ/Marist) equaled her career bests with 13 points and eight rebounds, while junior guard Abena George (Elmont, NY/Elmont Memorial) racked up the hustle points with six rebounds, six assists and five steals to go with five points.
