COUGARS REPEAT AS CACC NORTH DIVISION VOLLEYBALL CHAMPS

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Caldwell College volleyball team clinched its second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division championship with a three-set victory over Chestnut Hill College Saturday afternoon at Sorgenti Arena. The win is the Cougars' program-best ninth in a row and gives them a 20-11 record on the season, including a 16-3 mark in CACC play. The Griffins complete their season with a record of 5-25, 1-18 CACC.

Freshman outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) led all players with 17 kills to pace the Cougars to a 25-14, 25-19, 25-11 triumph. McDonough, who had 13 kills in the first two sets combined, also notched a team-high 11 digs. Junior middle blocker Keesha Francois (Elkins Park, PA/Cheltenham) racked up nine kills and a gaudy .471 hitting percentage, while sophomore outside hitter Elise Lennon (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) tallied five kills and five digs. Sophomore setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay) helped the Cougar offense record 42 kills and a .213 hitting percentage with 33 assists to go with nine digs. Cassie Benson led Chestnut Hill with seven kills.

Caldwell enters the CACC Tournament as the top seed in the North and will play the fourth seed, which has yet to be determined. The Cougars, who have won 20 matches in a season for the first time in team history, will host the No. 4 seed on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
