COUGAR VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO PHILADELPHIA IN CACC TOURNAMENT

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Caldwell College volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Philadelphia University in the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Friday night at Georgian Court University. The result snaps the Cougars' 10-match winning streak and gives them a program-best 21-12 record. The Rams (32-5) advance to play the host  Lions in the finals.

Caldwell lost the match, 25-13, 25-20, 25-22. The Cougars had 34 kills compared with 29 for the Rams, but 22 hitting errors kept Caldwell from gathering momentum. Freshman outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline) led all players with 12 kills, while juniors Keesha Francois (Elkins Park, PA/Cheltenham) and Cory Roesing (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) each tallied eight kills. Freshman libero Maddy Amon (Shelbyville, KY/Bishop Moore) had a team-best 17 digs defensively, and McDonough and Roesing notched 10 digs apiece. Sophomore setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay), who was named to the all-CACC first team, dished out 25 assists.

Cindy Adams led the Rams with nine kills, while Natalie Amodei registered 21 digs.

The Cougars won its second CACC North Division crown with a 16-3 conference mark and set a program record for wins in a season with 21.
