ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - The Caldwell College volleyball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match to Dominican College in four sets, 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20 Thursday night at the Hennessy Center. The loss ends a five-match winning streak for the Cougars, who are now 11-10 overall and 9-2 in the conference. The Lady Chargers improve to 16-8, 10-3 CACC.

The first two sets were close battles, with neither team leading by more than five points. Dominican finished strong in both sets to take a 2-0 lead in the match. In the third set, Caldwell controlled play from start to finish and forced a fourth set with a 25-21 win. Junior outside hitter Cory Roesing (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) had four of Caldwell's 15 kills in the set.

In the fourth set, the Cougars trailed early but bounced back to take a 13-11 lead. The score was tied 17-17 when Dominican scored the next three points for a 20-17 advantage. Caldwell pulled to within one, 20-19 on kills by junior middle blocker Keesha Francois (Elkins Park, PA/Cheltenham) and freshman outside hitter Susan McDonough (Saline, MI/Saline), but the Lady Chargers scored five of the next six points to clinch the set and the match. The loss is Caldwell's first to a CACC North Division opponent this season and ends a 16-match winning streak against divisional foes that stretches back to last season.
