BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team played the University of Bridgeport to a 2-2 tie Tuesday night in a non-conference game at Knights Field. The result leaves the Cougars with an overall record of 3-8-1, while the Knights, who are ranked among the East Region's top 10 teams, are now 7-2-3.

Bridgeport scored the only goal of the first half, as Reuel Brown found the net in the 14th minute for a 1-0 lead. Four minutes into the second half, junior defender Andrew Loughnane (Harrison City, PA/Penn Trafford) knocked home a rebound off a shot from freshman forward Facundo Zalazar (Buenos Aires City, Argentina/San Agustin) to tie the game at 1-1.

Mario Izaguirre's goal in the 58th minute briefly put the Knights back on top. Just a minute and 25 seconds later, sophomore midfielder Carlos Sanchez (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) dribbled down the right flank and crossed the ball towards the Knights' goal. Two Bridgeport defenders deflected the ball, which ended up in the net for an own goal to tie the game at 2-2. Neither team was able to score in the final 31 minutes of regulation and through two 10-minute overtime periods.

Sophomore goalkeeper John Londono (West New York, NJ/Memorial), pictured, recorded nine saves in goal for Caldwell, while Bridgeport's Milos Suljagic made eight saves.

The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 17 with a game at Holy Family University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest starts at 2:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
