BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team lost a close 1-0 decision to the University of Bridgeport at the UB Men's Soccer Classic Friday night at Knights Field. The loss drops the Cougars to 1-2 on the season, while the Knights improve to 2-1.
With the game tied 0-0 late in the second half, Bridgeport's Gilbert Bayonne scored the game's only goal in the 82nd minute off a pass from Patric Brundin. Goalkeeper Milos Suljagic made the lead stand up, recording four saves for the shutout. Senior goalkeeper John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) made a season-high seven saves in goal for Caldwell.
The Cougars continue play at the UB Men's Soccer Classic with a game against Briarcliffe College on Sunday, Sept. 7, beginning at 2:30.
