CALDWELL VOLLEYBALL EARNS CACC VICTORY AT POST

WATERBURY, Conn. - The Caldwell College volleyball team picked up an important Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win on Monday night with a 3-1 triumph over Post University at the Drubner Center. With the win, the Cougars improve to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in the CACC, while the Eagles fall to 1-11, 0-2 CACC. Just nine matches into the season, Caldwell has equaled its win total of last year, when the Cougars finished 4-24.

The first two sets were close, with the Cougars winning the first, 25-23, then losing the second 29-27. Caldwell cruised to a 25-15 win in the third set, then took the match with a 25-21 win in the fourth set. Freshman right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) recorded a team-best 15 kills to pace the Cougar offense, which was aided by 33 assists from freshman setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay). Roth and senior outside hitter Laura Ciesla (Chicago, IL/Lane Tech) each tallied four service aces. Defensively, Ciesla had 21 digs and sophomore libero Kathleen Estes (Lyndhurst, NJ/Lyndhurst) had 20 digs.

The Cougars will host Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC match on Saturday, Sept. 27, in conjunction with the College's Homecoming celebration. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
