ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game to Molloy, 2-0 Monday night at the Dean Skelos Sports Complex. The result marks the fourth time the Cougars (0-5) have been shut out this season. The Lions improve to 2-2 with the win.
Molloy's Joanna Taylor provided all the scoring the Lions would need when she finished a cross from Gillian Fortune in the 19th minute. In the second half, Fortune notched an insurance goal in the 58th minute for a 2-0 lead. Christina Aquilon made the lead stand up, making four saves, all in the second half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Hoenig (Howell, NJ/Howell), pictured, made a season-best 10 saves for Caldwell.
Caldwell plays at Queens College on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in another non-conference game. The match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. in Flushing, N.Y.
