CALDWELL DOWNS FELICIAN IN VOLLEYBALL

CALDWELL, N.J. - Freshman right side Amber Mosher (Flanders, NJ/Mount Olive) had a team-high 12 kills to lead the Caldwell College volleyball team to a sweep of Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Thursday afternoon in the George R. Newman Center. The victory gives the Cougars an 8-7 record overall and a 5-2 mark in the conference, while Felician drops to 2-16, 2-4 CACC. Caldwell won the three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-8, 25-22.

In the first set, the Cougars trailed Felician 17-16 before battling back to take the set 25-21. The second set was all Caldwell, which scored the first 10 points en route to a 25-8 win. Mosher had six kills and no errors in the set to help the Cougars hit .385. The final set was much like the first, with neither team able to take control. Caldwell pulled ahead, 21-16, only to see Felician come back late to make the score 24-22 Caldwell. But a service error by the Golden Falcons ended the comeback and gave the Cougars a program-best fifth conference victory. Mosher and sophomore middle blocker Keesha Francois (Elkins Park, PA/Cheltenham) each had four kills in the deciding set.

Freshman setter Lauren Roth (Findlay, OH/Findlay) recorded 34 assists to help the Cougars hit .214 for the match. Sophomore outside hitter Justine Pecora (Clifton, NJ/Mt. St. Dominic) and freshman middle blocker Titilola Alao (Ossining, NY/Ossining) had eight kills apiece, while sophomore outside hitter Cory Roesing (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) tallied 10 digs.

Next up for Caldwell is a non-conference match against East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday, Oct. 14. The match begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Newman Center.
