CALDWELL WOMEN'S SOCCER LOSES TO POST IN DOUBLE OVERTIME

WATERBURY, Conn. - A goal by Megan Hansen in the 108th minute allowed Post University to defeat the Caldwell College women's soccer team, 2-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Wednesday afternoon at Lamoy Field. The loss drops the Cougars to 5-9-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play, while the Eagles improve to 4-10-2, 3-5-1 CACC.

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute, when freshman defender Nikki D'Orsaneo (Bowie, MD/Bowie), pictured, tallied her first career goal off a corner kick from senior forward Kristee Paknis (Whiting, NJ/Manchester). The lead held until Susan Curran tied the game with a goal in the 59th minute. Neither team was able to score through the remainder of regulation and the first 10-minute overtime period. With just over two minutes left in the second overtime, Hansen scored on a free kick from 20 yards out to give Post the victory. The result marked the second year in a row that the Eagles have beaten the Cougars in overtime, following last year's 3-2 win at Caldwell.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Hoenig (Howell, NJ/Howell) recorded eight saves for Caldwell, while Liz Johnson made 10 saves in the win for Post.

The Cougars host Chestnut Hill College in another CACC game on Saturday, Oct. 25, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Caldwell Field.
