PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Caldwell College volleyball team lost a non-conference match to the University of the Sciences, 30-11, 30-16, 30-16 Saturday evening at Bobby Morgan Arena. The 3-0 defeat came in the Cougars' first game at the Devils Classic, dropping their record to 0-2 overall on the season. USP improves to 1-3.
Caldwell struggled defensively, allowing 16 services aces by USP. Freshman outside hitter Cory Roesing (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) had a team-best nine kills for the Cougars, who also received nine assists from freshman setter Kendra Kane (Secaucus, NJ/Lacordaire Academy). Christine Puschak paced the Devils with nine kills in the win.
The Cougars continue play at the Devils Classic with matches against Southern Connecticut State at 12:00 p.m. and American International at 2:00 p.m.
