WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The Caldwell College women's soccer team lost a non-conference game to the University of New Haven, 5-0 Thursday afternoon at Robert B. Dodds Stadium. The defeat keeps the Cougars winless at 0-3 on the season, while the Chargers even their record at 2-2-2.
New Haven scored the only goal it would need in the 26th minute, when Selina Moylan scored for a 1-0 lead. Holly Dawson made it 2-0 with a goal in the 36th minute. Moylan struck again in the 44th minute, then completed the hat trick with a tally in the 62nd minute. Dawson found the net for the second time in the game less than six minutes later to complete the scoring.
Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Hoenig (Howell, NJ/Howell) made nine saves in goal for the Cougars, while Kelly Schindler had one save for New Haven.
The Cougars next play at Chestnut Hill College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match on Saturday, Sept. 15. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
